THE THREE FISHES IN MITTON NAMED WINNER OF AA REGIONAL FOOD AWARDThe Three Fishes in Mitton, Lancashire, received nationwide recognition last night when it was named winner of the Regional Food Award, sponsored by Food from Britain, at the AA Hospitality Awards. The glittering evening ceremony was hosted by GMTV presenter, Jenni Falconer, at the InterContinental Hotel, Park Lane in London.

Nigel Haworth and Craig Bancroft, owners of The Three Fishes, who were on hand to receive the award in front of an audience of more than 500, commented: “We are delighted to receive this award from the AA. The Three Fishes has gone from strength to strength since its opening in 2004, and this award endorses our continued commitment to regional food and the local food heroes who supply this fantastic produce from our region.”

Having been established in the area for over 400 years, The Three Fishes is a popular institution in Mitton. Having recently undergone major refurbishment, it has now also become a regional destination and boasts a menu encompassing the county and beyond, from ‘Wild Morecombe Bay Sea Bass’, ‘Wallings Farm Free Range Gloucester Old Spot Chipolatas’ to the ‘Length of Lancashire Cheeseboard’.

The food is outstanding, whilst the menu has embraced the flavours of regional cookery and British classics. The pub itself has a welcoming atmosphere which has fared well from its sympathetic restoration.”

Attended by world-renowned chefs and prominent hoteliers, the AA Hospitality Awards are an opportunity to recognise and reward the excellent services provided by the UK’s very best establishments, honouring the finest AA-inspected and rated hotels, restaurants and pubs in throughout the UK.
