KATE WINS HOOK LINE & SINKER!
Budding artist Kate Erskine would appear to be well on her way to exhibiting her own work as she has just won a competition for her drawing of a fish.
The competition was held at the three Fishes, Mitton, where children who dine are given a children’s worksheet with questions about sea life and a place to draw a fish with coloured crayons, while they wait for their food.
Kate, of Brockhall Village, was visiting The Three Fishes with her grandparents, her parents, David and Tracy, and brother Joshua, age six, for a special treat, and was delighted to win first prize from an entry of more than 300 drawings done by children since the pub was re-opened in October. The competition was judged by owners, Craig Bancroft and Nigel Haworth, General manager – Andy Morris and Sales & marketing Director – Kaye Mathew.
Kate’s prize was a beautiful art box, containing brushes, oils, pastels and watercolours, all of which she is hoping to make good use of in the future as her favourite subject, at Oakhill College is art. The winning drawings will take pride of place on the wall of The Three Fishes for customers to admire and other children to try and emulate in the next quarter’s competition.
